Rough Texture
These two paintings are done by artist Bob Dob, and it just so happens they are titled "Rough Night Out" and "Rougher Night out." There are numerous types of third dimensions giving both characters lots of texture. The gritty shadows give off a coarse and cold feeling. The dirty wall behind them, the five O'clock shadow and the shadows are all examples of how shading can create I texture type of look. Everything about these paintings portray rough texture, especially the shading over the eyes that the hat creates.
Smooth Texture
This piece was done by an artist named Judy Ragagli, she paints Barbie dolls from the 1950s through the 1970s. In my opinion when it comes to smooth things it does not get any smoother then plastic. Judy does wonders when illustrating plastic figures. Her shading and lighting is amazing, the face and make up paint look like they were sprayed on flawlessly by a machine. I believe that this painting and the subject matter of the painting scream smooth texture. Even the hair looks plastic and smooth.
