Symetrical
The piece on the left was created by artist Mister Giles' after one of my older favorite rapper's "Pharoh Monch." The art itself seems to appear asymetrical but they are place in a very symetrical pattern. I think that even though it is really busy, everything looks balanced and proportionate. The center is the focus and everything blends into the background equally. The piece on the right was created by an artist name Andreas Preis and it is part of a collection called "Life." Everything is symetrical in this piece, the balance of the fish and the border appear totally equal. The bottom is a little heavier because of the word, but even still is pretty balanced. Espicially the height and width of the fonts. I also enjoyed the color balance as well.
Asymetrical
Both of these pieces are examples of asymetrical art. The one on the left is done by Lydia Burris and is a digital image printed on a canvas. Lydia is an amazing artist and the majority of the work I found of her's was all asymetrical. I truely appreciate the some of the morbid subject matter mixed with the bright and vivid colors. The one on the right is a table lamp created in 1902 by artist and sculptur Peter Behrens. The shape is like an arc that is very heavy on the left side. At the end of the arc there is illumination that makes the subject matter more clear.
